Chicago City Council May Ban Horse and Carriages

Horse-drawn carriages are just one of many things that bring style and class to the already world-class city of Chicago. But unfortunately a city council committee may vote Wednesday to ban horse and carriages. Why? Because they say horses often have to dodge bikes, cars and people, and then there's the argument about how the horses are being treated. That's fair.

But a Chicago alderman says it is time to put an end to the horse and carriage rides, adding that Chicago has been very progressive on banning puppy mills and he would like to see the same happen with horse-drawn carriages.

So if you plan on riding one of the city's carriages for an upcoming wedding, prom, Quinceanera or you just want to be boo'd up on a beautiful summer night or fall day, I suggest you make your reservation now because the rides may be going away -- but we certainly hope not.
