Today is World Suicide Prevention Day

Suicide is a serious issue and unfortunately more and more Americans are taking their lives because of several reasons. This year alone, it is reported that six Chicago police officers took their own lives.

Financial strain. Bullying. Depression. Mental illness. Relationship issues. These and hundreds more reasons will make people think about ending their lives because they just can't cope. But there is always hope. It may sound easier than what it is for most, but there is always someone or something to live for. There are many resources and places where you can speak with someone if you are having suicidal thoughts and contemplating suicide.

Your life is valuable and there is something to live for. There is purpose for you and greatness that you can achieve. I know life gets terribly hard at times, and it may seem like darkness looms forever but with every problem there is a solution. No matter how bleak things get, there is hope!

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and right now there is somebody waiting to talk to you. It's okay to talk, it's okay to have problems, it's okay to want to seek help. We're all here for a reason and you will always have reasons to live.
