CPS, CTU Reach A Potential Agreement For Return To Schools

There is promising news regarding whether or not Chicago Public School students will return to the classroom. CPS and the Chicago Teachers Union have reached a potential agreement that will allow teachers and students to return to the classroom in the coming weeks.

Pre-K and cluster teachers and students are expected to return to the classroom this Thursday. Kindergarten through 8th grade students will return next month; K-5th grade staff and teachers will return Feb. 22nd, and students will return March 1st. Sixth through 8th grade teachers will return March 1st, and students will follow on March 8th.

In addition to the slow return to the classroom, about 1500 CPS staff will be vaccinated each week. Hopefully these measures will avert a strike because it is time our children head back to the classroom to learn in a safe environment.
